About

A Green Lady

You could say I've been around Nature my entire life. For the most part, I've lived in the country or near the woods. I've always enjoyed hiking, camping, and exploring the outdoors. I garden, compost, and recycle. I am 100% against animal testing and greenwashing, so I'm always checking product labels. I love to travel, but cannot afford to do so as much as I would like. I thoroughly support a number of causes and organizations, including (but not limited to): The Nature Conservancy, WWF, Conservation International, and Save Japan Dolphins. I also thoroughly believe it is highly crucial to protect the remaining species and habitats on this planet, whether they are endangered or not. I do not drive (I don't even have a license). I absolutely loathe hunting and animal cruelty. Trees are absolutely awesome (in my opinion) and yes, I have hugged some in my day. There is no reason to be ashamed of that. Currently, I am looking into studying holistic veterinary medicine.

Eco-Muse.com

A few years ago, I started this site as a means to display (and eventually try to sell) my photography. However, that didn't seem like it was enough. I felt the need to add more, do more, and so I did. I added the Web Design service for those looking for an eco-friendly alternative in the field. Anyone with some time on their hands can build a website, but not everyone can incorporate a passion for the environment into their work and that is what I specialize in. I also wanted to offer visitors the opportunity to help the environment themselves. This is where the "Save the Bees" idea came in. The Journal also plays a role here, in that the posts are meant to educate and inspire, by discussing news, events, and craft (or project) ideas for the home.

Photos

The photos I take are with a simple, Canon A480 PowerShot camera, but I hope to upgrade to a much better model soon. Some are taken places I've only been to once, others are from places I can't visit enough. All photos (regardless of how good or poor in quality) are important to me. They are pieces of my memory that I am sharing with you and as such, expect you to take good care of them if any happen to end up in your possession. Please note that you may use the photos for a number of purposes, such as framing them, gifts, or school projects. But you may never use them to earn money. This includes (but is not limited to) earning money for yourself, someone else, or a business of any kind. You may not sell them. You may not be paid to have them published (online or offline). You may not use them on products, packaging, or advertisements. You may not use them to collect donations.

The only exception to this is if you are an environmental organization of some kind (like WWF). If you are part of an organization and want to use one of my images for a campaign (or some similar purpose), I ask that you do the following required things:

1. You must purchase the image from the site, as any other customer would.

2. You must request my approval and submit proof that you do work for the organization you are representing.

Once approved, you may use it as many times as you like, as often as you like.

However, you may never use any of the images obtained from the site to represent this site, the owner, or nature in a negative way.

Website Design

I started teaching myself the art of web design back in 1999. I've worked on a number of projects since then (mostly personal), but it wasn't until recent years that I realized I could actually "go green" with this as well. For example, this website's domain services are provided by a company powered by renewable energy. My computer is EPEAT Gold and EnergyStar certified and also comprised of some recycled (and recyclable) parts. As for sites I've designed, most of them are also eco-friendly. These include a website with information on pet care and several sites that sell organic products.
